Dancer Narthaki Nataraj is the first transgender to be awarded the Padma Shri. Dance is her life and she struggled very much to come to this position. She started a dance school named as ‘Valliambalam School of Dance’. Later she started branches in US, UK and Canada. She has been honoured with many more awards as well.
